How to act if you need help transporting the deceased to Estonia?

If a loved one has passed away abroad and you need to arrange their transportation to Estonia, you do not have to handle the entire process alone. LASTTRIP can assist with the necessary documentation, communication with the relevant authorities, and the transportation of the deceased to Estonia.

What you should do first?

We review the requirements of the relevant country and explain which documents and procedures are required for transportation.

If necessary, we communicate with local authorities and partners and arrange transportation of the deceased by road or air.

The Deceased Arrives in Estonia
We arrange the handover in Estonia and, if needed, can also assist with arranging a coffin, cremation, urn burial, or traditional burial.

What kind of information we need?

When you call us, the following information is helpful if available:

the name of the deceased;
the country and city where the death occurred;
where the deceased is currently located (hospital, mortuary, etc.), if known;
whether you would like transportation to Estonia or another country;
whether the deceased had travel insurance;
the name and phone number of the contact person.

If the deceased had valid travel insurance, the policy may cover some or all of the costs associated with repatriation, depending on the terms of the insurance policy.

Before making any arrangements, it is advisable to check the insurance coverage and contact the insurance provider.
